Lanka Haouche Perren is a French photographer and filmmaker graduated from the Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français in Paris and came to Ireland in 1999. He has been awarded a Film Project Award in 2011 and 2013 from the Arts Council of Ireland. In 2012,  he documented and photographed the mothers of the Femicide victims of Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, in the making of the film Blood Rising by Mark McLoughlin. The collection of photographs taken for this project was part of a group exhibition titled An Oasis of Horror in a Desert of Boredom 2012/13, held at VISUAL - Centre for Contemporary Art in Carlow. In 2014, he finalized a short non-narrative film titled "Closed Wounds" and worked on a series of photographs portraying institutionalized children in Belarus. The same year, a collaborative work titled Aneas, presenting photographic illustrations and selections of open poetry was shortlisted for the Gradam Uí ShúilleabháIn Award, Irish language book of the year 2014. In 2016 he was shortlisted and finalist of Sky Arts Pan-European competition titled Master of Photography.
