US program

There will be a special US program, which has been selected from the incoming film entries of 2018. Beside that there are some other side-programs around USA.

In the focus of 2018 is the spoken word scene in general. It will be presented in performances, readings and films. A retrospective is dedicated to the Beat Generation. In cooperation with the ZKM Karlsruhe and the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival 2018 will presented a new Poetry Film Festival concept ,that resembles an exhibition concept in the founding and penetration of the spoken word theme. The ZKM was running two major retrospectives on the Beat Poets Allen Ginsberg and William S. Burroughs.  There is a large and prolific poetry film scene in the US, such as the Motionpoems (http://motionpoems.org/ Visual Poetry Project (www.visiblepoetryproject.com), Moving Poems (http://movingpoems.com), or Rattapallax (http://www.rattapallax.com).

The festival is organized by Filmwerkstatt Münster in cooperation with the Haus für Poesie. It is sponsored by the Kunststiftung NRW, the state of NRW and the city of Münster.
